Foschini: Designer Fragrance Set {THE FRAGRANCE CHRONICLES}

For Christmas I was gifted this awesome set from Foschini. (And by that, I mean it was from a family member who purchased it at Foschini. Not from Foschini itself)

At first I had no idea how ten bottles of perfume could fit into one small box and then I realized how awesome it really was; for R675 you get ten samples of designer fragrances, of which you then get to choose one and redeem a FULL SIZE bottle, a little booklet describing all the perfume fragrances, and you also receive two vouchers giving you 15% and 20% off your next purchases. Each full size perfume size differed, depending on which you chose. For example the Lady Million full size was 30ml, while the Pleats Please full size was 50ml.

I was beyond excited to receive this because WHO doesn’t love perfume samples? And deciding which perfume to get was one heck of a task. I had designated body parts for quite a few days after that which were for specific perfumes. That way I could constantly ask people’s opinions. (Please smell here, is my elbow nicer than my neck?).

Finally, after many a Facebook survey, I decided on Diesel’s ‘Loverdose’ in30ml. Weirdly enough I had never smelt this perfume before, and even though I had promised myself I would go for a 50ml option (just call me stingy), I could not refuse the sweet smelling tones of Orange Flower, Sambuc Jasmine and Tonka Beans which reminded me very much of a Britney Spears perfume. A fact that I am (almost too) embarrassed to admit. There were also other fragrances boxes; one was specified for men and another was a celebrity box set. My perfume choice cost R615 for 30ml and I also received the two vouchers and ten mini samples. If you do your maths each sample works out to costing about R35 each so for R675 this is a pricey but worthwhile present for someone special!
