Hi guys! And welcome to my first ever ‘Lip Look’ post.
I always see bloggers focusing more on one type of make-up category than others, and it looks like a really fun and interesting way to open your eyes up to all the different options. Whether it is nailpolish, blusher, lipstick etc, there is such a range of colours, finishes and combinations that it seems near endless.
This year I have started getting into lipsticks – usually I am a lipbalm girl, I usually despise lipsticks, lipglosses and lipstains – but since I completed the Lipstick Tag I have started becoming a bit obsessed with lipstick. So I decided that I too would focus on one make-up category this year, and it will be lipsticks! I am going to try upload a lipstick review at least once a week **sneaky excuse to buy atleast 40 more lipsticks**
So here is my first ever Lip Look review:
Revlon – Colourstay Ultimate Suede in 090 Private Viewing
Revlon – Colourburst in 065 Creamsicle
First off I used the Ultimate Suede but the consistency of it is VERY dry. The colour swatches as a gorgeous and rich dark nude, and it looks exactly the same on your lips, but I really couldn’t handle how dry it was even when I used a lipbalm beforehand. I then applied the Colourburst over it and it looked like these two products were MADE for one another! The Colourburst in Creamsicle is a semi-sheer but super creamy formula which swatches as an orangey-nude with a touch of pink. All in all the outcome is rich and natural; quite a ‘my lips, but better’ combo. The combination turns more pinky toned if you apply more of the Creamsicle colour.
** Apologies in advance for how yucky the Ultimate Suede looks, it was a VAIR hot day and it didn’t want to play nicely.
I found the combo to last about two hours before replenishing my lip colours. Usually I wouldn’t stick with products that last so few hours, but I really do like the end result and I know I will wear it again!
Below: With more Creamsicle applied.
