It has been aaages since I posted mini-reviews on products and I suppose the reason is I actually just don’t purchase beauty products any longer. Okay, that is a lie but I rarely purchase beauty products any longer.
The reason being that I sort of had no need. Beauty products are forever landing on my desk and there is just no point in repurchasing old favourites when readers are wanting to see NEW products and NEW launches. Nevertheless, there are always those few “cult status” items that I will never be without, and these are three of them!
Instant Anti Age Eraser Concealer from Maybelline – R 179.95
I barely need to say anything about this. You guys have seen me rave about this concealer soooo many times before. It is absolutely amazing. It works incredibly well on pigment, under-eye discolouration, making you look more awake and more. This truly is a multi-function beauty product that accompanies me everywhere.
One teensy thing to note is that – while I am obsessed with it – the formula of the SA version seems to differ from the UK version. I have used both versions numerous times and the SA version seems slightly less “as good”. Still amazing, just not as good. The concealers are essentially the same but they have slightly different names here and in the UK – so I am not sure if the formula is different as well. The SA version (seen above) is the Instant Anti Age Eraser while the UK version is the Instant Age Rewind Eraser.
Lash Sensational Mascara from Maybelline – R159.95
Another product that I have raved about again and again. The Lash Sensational Mascara has been my go-to and most recommended for months now. There is not another mascara in my (extremely vast) collection that pays off like this one does. It gives length and volume, it does not flake, it does not wear off as the day goes on. It really is INCREDIBLE and I will repurchase it for years to come! Now watch Maybelline discontinue it. I have the WORST luck when it comes to beloved products being discontinued!
L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Matte Lipstick in Erotique – R 179.95
Now, this is a range of lipsticks that I have long been in love with. The Colour Riche lippies from L’Oréal are divine – but this is a new shade to me. Basically my favourite lipstick shade of all time – and I mean OF ALL TIME – is Mahogany Studs. But Mahogany Studs is always always always sold out. It is basically the Velvet Teddy of L’Oréal. I decide to opt for Erotique as it looked like the closest shade to MS judging by the website images.
Unfortunately, I was incredibly wrong in my shade selection. Erotique is a coral-ish pink shade, not at all the rich muted brown shade that I was after. Looking back at the website images now, I have NO IDEA how I got it so wrong. Lust for my favourite lippy must be the equivalent for love goggles. Anyhoo, Erotique is still absolutely beautiful and I reach for it many times a week. It can be worn as a more dressed-down shade for work, but it can be dressed up with heavy eyes. Definitely a winner!
The entire selection of Colour Riche lippies from L’Oréal is just divine. Long-wearing, beautiful shades, everything you would want. You just need to find a shade that works for you!
