I am back with another local company review – YAY! I love nothing more than being able to feature little gems that I find in and around Cape Town (where I live). And today I have a review on a local spa, the absolutely gorgeous Wellness with Attitude. Side note, Wellness with Attitude has very recently relocated the most INCREDIBLE venue at 19 Constantia Main Road. But more on the venue later.

When the owner, Januschka Rohrer, invited me to experience either a 30 minute massage or a Shellac mani, I jumped at the chance. Sounds dream-worthy, right? Right! I needed no time to choose, I am aaaaaall for massages! Any day, any time. Even though my raggedy-ass nails need some serious TLC.

I visited Wellness with Attitude on a quiet weekday morning and I was NOT expecting what I found. The most gorgeous, GORGEOUS, white and teal themed salon (which is actually a heritage site) located in a house on Constantia Main Road. Yep, the salon takes up an entire house and a room or two are rented out to other beauty-themed professionals. But the spa’s massage room, couple’s massage room, reception, boutique, bathroom and nail station take up the larger portion of the house. And it is just exquisite.

Moving on from the decor.. because this is not a decor post… but Januschka could seriously decorate my home any day! You will find every and all spa treatments on the menu. This covers nails, waxing, facials, massages, tanning, you name it. You can even get permanent make-up applied on site but this is not personally done by Januschka.

The prices are on par with the industry standard of this calibre of establishment. You are looking at (ballpark) figures in the realm of:

R460 for a 60 minute facial
R480 for a 60 minute massage
Waxes ranging from R65 – R250

The treatment I went with – as mentioned above – was the 30 minute back, neck and shoulder massage. My favourite kind. Because I am VERY stressed. Yeah, I hear ya… “Rayne, what do you have to be stressed about?” No kids, no husband, blah blah blah… But I am stressed, okayyy. Januschka even said I had horrific knots in my back. Without me prompting or asking her. So there.

I felt so welcomed and greeted with warmth in the salon that I started up a fat chat with Januschka. I wanted to know everything there was to know about the gorgeous Wellness with Attitude and WHY I had never heard of it before! She actually said to me “Do you not want to be silent and enjoy your massage?”. I was really just so struck by how utterly gorgeous the salon was that I wanted to get straight into the “interview” portion. I NEVER thought I would ever say that about a massage session!

The massage itself was gorgeous. I felt completely taken care of and I would not have requested anything else from the treatment. It was the standard BNS massage and it was wonderful.

There were small things that I noted such as the heater in the room to assure my towels were warm, the bowl of sweets on the table, and even the fluffy pen topper which all added a touch of warmth and pizazz to the environment. Like I said before, it just felt like a wonderful space.

After the massage I joined Januschka for a coffee and a chat (yes, I finally got my conversation – LOL!) and she ran me through the layout and the history of Wellness with Attitude. I wish I could have stayed longer but I had taken a day off work to get to FOUR other blogging commitments that day! Launch season is no joke, yo.

The aforementioned coffee… finished off with a heart spoon nogal! Attention to detail is key at Wellness with Attitude.

So the run down is this… Wellness with Attitude was previously situated in Tokai. They have recently relaunched in an even better location (19 Constantia Main, Road) and are now offering even more treatments and offers than before.

In my opinion, the UPS here is the fact that you can shop up a storm! Everything from scarves to trinkets to photoframes to mugs to pillows and pillowcases… the most amazing gifts for both men and females. Friends and family. Christmas, birthdays, special occasions. There was just SO MUCH on offer! The shelves are, quite literally, bursting with gifting options. And when I say gifting, that includes gifting yourself 😉

I will definitely be making my return soon enough – both to shop and to book a facial. I have got my eye on the Hydrating Facial. Lawd only knows how desperately my skin needs it right now. And while we are on the topic, skincare is Januschka’s main passion in the beauty field. And I can tell you, she has ridiculously good skin! The woman clearly knows a thing or twenty.

There is a fab array of Village Candles available. I just wanted to sit sniffing these all day!
