Throughout my blogging journey, I frequently test out full ranges of products and report back on which individual products within a range are, in my opinion, worth the spend. Placecol has, and continues to be, one of the very few brands whose ranges seem to work beautifully with my skin. And today I am bringing you a very indepth review of six of their products.
Placecol Moisture Hold Therapy – R315
Jumping right in with my favourite, the Moisture Hold Therapy. This is a one-stop-shop does it all daily treatment. The list of benefits goes on and on but a few of my favourites would be the intense hydration that it gives me skin, as well as the “bounciness” it adds. Overall my face feels primed and hydrated. Originally, as indicated on the bottle, I was using this twice a day and then decreased to once a day as this is recommended in cases of severe dehydration.
Placecol Gentle Exfoliating Treatment & Optimum Hydro Mask– R350 & R295
Another one which I am obsessed over. This AHA treatment exfoliates the skin super gently but you seriously feel the effect of it. My skin is always in dire need of exfoliation thanks to all the lovely dry patches, but a super harsh exfoliator (as much as I love, adore and crave them) can sometimes be too harsh on my skin.
This treatment is applied to the skin for 15 minutes, removed and then meant to be followed with another mask which should be skin specific. I use the Optimum Hydro Mask and find that, hand in hand, you’re left with less sensitive feeling skin as well as a complexion which looks healthier and more plumped up. The Hydro Mask is creamy and soothing on the skin. I do find that my skin’s reaction to the AHA will depend on the day. But sometimes you really need an intense cooling application of something!
I find as I am getting older I am looking for products that offer a more radiant look overall. These two in conjunction hit this on the head.
My only negative with this combo is that between the treatment and mask time frame, you need at least 30 minutes to go through it. This is luxurious and pampering for some, but I can also see how it may feel like a super effort to others who just can’t find the time. I, however, like to spend the time writing about whatever mask is actually on my face, like I am doing right now ?
Placecol Revitalising Eye Therapy – R230
I have featured this eyecream on Make It Rayne before, and this is now my second tube! A lovely, hydrating, lightweight little thing – I really do adore it. As a 24 year old, I don’t need to bring the big guns just yet. But I do find that this really alleviates the puffiness, tiredness and faint lines in my eye area. It is advised to apply it twice a day, day and night, but I only use it at night. It is however lightweight enough to use in the day without it causing havoc underneath your makeup.
Placecol Conditioning Lip Therapy – R70
A price-tag of R70 is an absolute bargain for a lipcare item that is going to keep my lips hydrated and moisturised in the Winter months. Packed with natural agents, this lip protector provides a lip barrier, as well as anti-microbial activity while moisturising. I use this constantly throughout the day. Not because it wears off, but because my lips just crave it! I noticed I did not develop a fever blister (lovely, Rayne, lovely) this season and that is almost unheard of for me!
Placecol Radiance Eventone Therapy – R265
Another one of my top choices of the entire range I tried out would be this treatment. I mentioned above that I try to stick with products that add a radiant healthy looking glow to my skin and this does exactly that. It calms my skin down, takes away the redness and illuminates it. Actually, it is formulated to protect against chronic inflammation, but I definitely see an immediate reduction in the redness. Technically it is meant to be used after the Vitamin C Radiance Therapy treatment but I don’t have this product. I am however happy with my results and I don’t think it is a must for my skin type.
Placecol Firming Neck and Bust Gel – R295
As with the eyecream, this is another addition which is best started early, even if you think you don’t need it! You are implementing this into your routine more so to stop time in it’s tracks than to actually see a difference. As much as we wish, you cannot reverse wrinkles without Botox. Sigh. That being said, this definitely leaves my skin and decolletage area feeling softer and more supple.
If you read the benefits list there is a loooong list of amazing benefits including the synthesis of extracellular matrix components and restructuring of the skin.
Placecol Clearing Scrub Mask – R295
Sigh. Yet another product that I am referring to as a favourite.. I really do adore this range! I mentioned before that I just love a good scrub for my face, and this does the trick. It is a mud mask (which is not best suited to dehydrated skin) but it does a fabulous job at getting rid of all my dry patches. And trust me, this Winter has brought the patches in full force!
Again, this needs to be left on for 15 minutes, but need not be followed with a treatment. I like to use it around twice a week (which is also the recommended usage). As well as exfoliating it also cleanses and rids the skin of sebum and impurities. It doesn’t dry the skin out or feel too harsh either, which is something you have to really look out for in Winter.
There you have it – my experience using a huge range of Placecol products over the last three weeks. Let me know if there are any other Placecol products that you would love to see a review on.
