The Fit Me concealer from Maybelline is not available in South Africa as yet. YET. The reason I say this is because the coveted Fit Me foundations and powders were released a few months ago. So I, for one, will not be shocked if we see this concealer on shelves soon enough! For the record, you can see my mini-review on the Fit Me foundation here.

I have the concealer in shade 15. At the time of buying it, there was one lighter shade (10) which was sold out so I grabbed 15. It pretty much is a dead on match with my skin tone. I do prefer my concealer to be slightly lighter as to actually brighten my undereye area – but as a cover up concealer this is bang on. Also since purchasing, Maybelline has released three new shades which includes a shade 5 which is super light and pale. Sooo perfect for us milk bottle ladies! I also love how the other two new shades are super dark but with alternating under tones – so darker ladies have a wider choice selection too.

Overall there are ten shades, which is not a great selection. But the ten available shades are a very broad spectrum.

My biggest issue when it comes to concealer is knowing if they are very drying on the skin or not. It is SO hit or miss because you cannot figure this out from swatching it on your hand. You also can’t find it out from reading/watching someone elses review because skin is so personal – what works for you may not (and probably will not) work the same for someone else. This formula does not need to be set with powder therefore I don’t know if it is drying after setting it with powder.

“This oil-free concealer formula conceals redness, flaws, and blemishes. Matches all skin tones. Dermatologist tested. Ophthalmologist tested. Non-comedogenic concealer. Fragrance-free.”

It is a liquid formula which is luxuriously creamy and so easy to blend. I also like to apply this to my eye lids as a primer because it covers up veins really well. However I do find that using your finger to dab it in will leave faint fingerprints. I just prefer to go straight in with a beauty sponge.

The purchase price on this is super affordable. I picked this up from Boots for only 5,99 pounds. This roughly converts into R102. This is definitely on the cheaper side on concealers! Also, whenever ranges are released here in SA they are ridiculously priced compared to their UK/US prices. Maybelline got something right here as the Fit Me foundy is only R99! This is actually CHEAPER than what it sells for overseas! So I would be willing to bet that when this is released here, it will be priced just as competitively.

So like I said, this is not available here. But once it hits our shelves – I would recommend giving it a try!
