In May I posted a few Mother’s Day ideas (I know, original hey Rayne) and I received so many comments and queries on the Revitalising Ritual box from The Body Shop so I thought I’d let you know exactly what is what.
This is my own box not my moms, but it makes an absolutely gorgeous prezzie for a mom, special friend, family member, basically ANY female. And I know my boyfriend appreciates body products as much as I do…
It is definitely a splurge purchase as the products included are very luxe, some of the most glitz – and priciest – products from the entire The Body Shop range.
There are a few options but this one is the Revitalising Ritual selection. It comes in a GORGE box which I still have as it is so handy for storing bits in. Definitely not the kind of box you just chuck out! It contains two luxury sized tubs of products. They are 350ml each and you can see in this picture, I can only just hold it in my hand. Like I said, LUXURY SIZES.
The products inside are the Mediterranean Sea Salt Scrub and the Atlantic Seaweed Revitalising Gel Cream. Both items are very very impressive and make the perfect combo.
I have mentioned it so many times but I am an exfoliator fanatic so this made me very excited. The first time I used it however I was so confused as to why it left an odd oily film over my body. Literally, everywhere I rubbed it it left a weird layer on my body. Only after asking around did I realize that – DUH – I had been using too much. The formula is SO very thick and creamy that you need a smidgen of product to exfoliate pretty much your entire body. And the smell! Oh, the smell! It is fresh and tangy and just divine.
If you are someone who needs special attention in areas such as your elbows and knees, or maybe you are like me and just crave a deep exfoliation now and again, then this scrub is definitely up your alley.
The second product is the Atlantic Seaweed Revitalising Gel Cream and this scared me a bit because of the seaweed part. The Body Shops’ Seaweed range is so raved about, but the thought just creeped me out so I never tried it. The formulation of the gel-cream formula is thick yet light and you just feel extra nourished. It is the perfect second layer over the scrub as it has a cooling effect on your skin.
Both of these products are seriously HUGE thumbs up from me. Bought seperately you will be paying R710, but you’ll pay R650 for the entire set. Which saves you R60 and then you can buy one of their matte lippies 😉
It may sound like a lot of money to drop it one go, and it is. But it definitely makes for such a delicious present for a really special occasion. The Body Shop also has a range of luxury candles at the moment which also make an extra-special prezzie! I have my eye on a few of these. I have only heard good things about them and I can’t wait to pick up a few! (Hint hint, it is my birthday at the end of the month to any family reading this!)
You can find these available separately from The Body Shop and Clicks stores nationwide. As far as I know, the Revitalising Ritual box set is available from only The Body Shop shops. But don’t quote me on that.
