And here we are with my fifth Ultimate Picks post. Today I am featuring CATRICE. One of our most affordable and readily available brands in South African “drugstores” (we call them chemists here, but beauty lovers still refer to them as drugstores).

Made To Stay Highlighter Pen

Such a simple product that has the ability to add some much needed pizazz to your face. I did a review a while ago which you can check out here. I use this for my inner eye, my cupids bow and sometimes for some super bright liner, I prefer to not use it as a cream highlighter on my cheekbones. A little goes a long way and you will have this one tube for AGES. Price: R74.95

Glam & Doll Mascara

This is literally, LITERALLY the product that made me start my Ultimate Picks series. It is products like this that need to be shout from the rooftops. The Glam & Doll mascara is my ultimate go-to drugstore mascara. In all honesty, L’Oreal’s Telescopic is my favourite drugstore/chemist available mascara but this Glam & Doll is more affordable than the Telesopic. Anyway, I did a review on it here which was a rave review, but I love it even more since then. I think I have repurchased it twice since I was originally sent it in a blogger drop. It really is the most perfect mascara. It does not smudge and it adds length and volume. Enough said, right? If I had to recommend ONLY ONE CATRICE product it would be this. Price: R80

Blush Artist Shading Palette in CorAll I Need

From the look of this palette you can tell which shade I swear by! This trio has been reviewed on my blog before and I fell even deeper in love with it the more I used it. My coral shade is pretty much finished and I am halfway through with the middle shade. Both are really just such great shades which last for hours. Due to their different tones this palette will see you through all four seasons of the year. I adored the coral shade in Winter and the pinks are suiting my skin beautifully in the warmer months. At the moment I am enjoying swirling the two pink shades

Velvet Brow Powder

This brow powder took a while for me to really get into it, but then I loved it! I was a bit perturbed by the sponge end, thinking it could not achieve a truly sleek brow. But, firstly, this is the product that made me appreciate the invention of the spooly. It seriously brushes your brow hairs out so perfectly, and then the sponge applies the colour to the brow. It is not for days when you need a sleek and slick shaped brow. More for a natural on-the-go look. I really think everyone needs one of these on hand, just for the days when you do not have a lot of time to sit and precisely fill in your brows. AKA me every weekday as I would rather sleep a bit longer. Price: roughly R65 – R80

CATRICE

Multi Matt Blush in Love, Rosie!

Besides for some damn fine packaging, how cool are these shades? The four panels of colour have an almost ombre effect when you look really close. I seriously fell in love with this just based on the design alone but I have come to love the fact that you can mix and use certain parts of the blush depending on how tanned or fair you are. So versatile and you could use the blush as an eyeshadow if you so desire; the powder is very finely milled which will allow you to use it as a shadow. I have no idea if this is still on shelves but I feel like I have seen it recently, but I couldn’t find it online. Price: roughly R50 – R70

CATRICE

Prime and Fine Beautifying Primer

This is a drastically underrated CATRICE product! Hear me out though; it is not a pore-filling primer and it is not marketed as one. It is a ‘beautifying primer’, and beautify it does! If you don’t struggle with enlarged pores this is your new best friend. It adds a beautifully soft luminous effect to the face whilst also lengthening the wear of your make-up. If you are having a no make-up day, literally throwing some of this and some tinted moisturiser on your face will have you feeling covered up enough to face the outdoors.  Price: R75

Sand Nudes & Chocolate Nudes Palettes

Now onto the good stuff! CATRICE do eyeshadows amazingly well. And I mean, like, REALLY well. These pictured palettes are two of my faves and you can see the colour selection is quite similar. They also have bronze editions, rose editions, colourful editions and and and. There are so many to choose from and they regularly bring out limited edition ranges. As long as the shades are used with a primer, you will absolutely love them. They are blendable, great quality and long lasting. Price: roughly R105 each

CATRICE

Single shadows: Gold n’ Roses – Liquid Metal, Popey’s Daily Dose – Matt Absolute Eye Colour, Pret-a-Lumiere – Allez Les Bleus

As with the above, these are more shadows, they are just singles. These three are from three different ranges and you can see how different they all are. I love that one brand is able to come up with so many different kinds of shadows. Out of all of them, the Liquid Metal range is my favourite. And the CATRICE eyeshadow names will have you giggling to yourself. Price: these three ranges range from R55 – R85
