According to a recent survey, 80% of women feel that their hair affects their day to day mood. When asked to describe how they feel about their hair, the top three responses were; ‘my hair relates to my identity/personality’, ‘it is a constant challenge’ and ‘my hair is a source of confidence’.
I cannot explain how much I relate to the above quote. This quote headlined the info sheet that was sent out with this gorge #DoveHairPerfectPair kit and immediately I knew I had to include it in my review of the products. Personally, I have some seriously emotional attachment to my tresses. I have no idea why, but I know I would cry my eyes out and probably sink into some serious depression if I had to cut it. Anyway, clearly all women feel similar to me (but maybe are not quite as dramatic). So why would you use anything except the best on your hair?
A few bloggers were sent this Nutritive Solutions Intensive Repair kit from Dove and I have to say, I was thrilled. I recently purchased a Repair & Protect conditioner from a different haircare brand and it gave me the craziest dandruff ever. Honestly, that conditioner set off some damn craze on my scalp! I had seen so many bloggers raving about it so I bought the big boy version, the 750ML bottle, but no, it clearly had a problem with me and, to be fair, I have never had dandruff in my life. Dry, flaky and itchy as heck. So of course when this kit arrived I was more than excited to get some new products in my life, even though I have used Dove haircare products before.
The kit contained the Dove Nutritive Solutions Intensive Repair Shampoo & Conditioner, the Intensive Repair hair mask and the Intensive Repair Daily Conditioner. Yep, you read that last one correctly. A daily conditioner – which is PERFECT for ladies who gym every day in the mornings. Not like I am one of those ladies but yeah..
All of the products are formulated with Nutri Keratin Actives and the range promises to instantly repair your hair and provide long term nourishment. Each product also has the same smell; that fresh smell that all Dove products smell of. Just good old plain fresh and clean smelling!
After using the entire range I can say that the overall winner for me is the hair mask. It gives your hair an extra boost of nourishment and completely alleviates the look of split ends and dryness (this is great for me as my ends are way past their due date). The formula is also a medium consistency and medium richness so it doesn’t leave you feeling like you need to pile on the product, yet it doesn’t feel too rich and thick either, therefore you won’t need to worry about the formula if you have oily roots. It is juuuust right, although I wouldn’t suggest using it after every hair wash either. If you have hair like mine, our hair tends to get accustomed to products fairly quickly, meaning that amazing products tend to not work as amazingly if used regularly.
I also love the overall idea of the daily conditioner. I am currently on a healthy hair kick where I am trying to wash my hair as infrequently as possible, so I have not had a chance to use the daily conditioner for a few days in a row but the notion of it basically being a hair mask that works in the same time frame as a conditioner is awesome. It really does leave the hair feeling stronger and healthier and you can use it daily and still see the same results. ADDICTIVE to say the very least!

I just started using this range about a week ago and I love it already – which says a LOT considering I only ever use professional, salon haircare brands! I’m loving the daily conditioner – also haven’t used it for a few days in a row, but it still has a great effect. Really such a great range!
