This tube is my one in a million CC Cream. The Essence Clear and Correct All-In-One CC Cream.
I say it is one in a million because Essence tends to be a hit-or-miss brand. They have some items which act as much higher end items and then they have products which I would never touch again (I’m looking at you Natural Tinted Moisturiser). After being left unimpressed I never repurchased any other Essence BB or CC creams OR foundations, but then Beauty Bulletin very kindly sent me a few goodies to try and this little tube was in the mix…
So when I used this I was SO surprised – and happily so – because there is nothing better than stumbling across a cheapie product which works just as well – if not better – than a high end alternative.
The formula is thick and creamy but when applied it feels light and airy. I would recommend this to someone who has clearer skin but struggles with discolouration and an uneven skin tone. It doesn’t do too much to cover up redness and pimples so you would need to have concealer on hand when using it. It also is not the CC cream for you if you prefer a buildable CC cream. However, if you are needing a light cover that does not feel cakey at all then this is a winner. Especially with us shooting into Spring at an alarming speed.. I will definitely keep this on hand as my go-to CC cream.
I personally prefer a BB or a CC cream during Spring and Summer and the beauty of this CC cream specifically is that it helps even out your skintone and diminish dark circles – which is something I constantly mention that I struggle with!
Now who wants some nasty before and after pictures?
BEFORE – as you can see, I struggle with bad undereye circles and an uneven skin tone. I am also not jumping for joy at having to take photos without make-up..
AFTER – First off these are totally unedited, as you can see from my lines on my forehead.
You would definitely need to use a primer underneath to stop the CC cream from creasing into all your fine lines and wrinkles but it gives a great natural looking coverage. I would also generally use this with a concealer, as I mentioned above, as it does not completely diminish your dark circles but it does help conceal a tiny bit. So all in all I would use this as my go-to Clear & Correct Cream on a day when I am off to the beach or something like that, where you don’t need crazy coverage but your skin isn’t fab enough to wear on its own.
These pictures are unedited (hence the fine lines and bump on my lip!) but I think the pictures do enough justice to the product as you can easily see the difference in improvement it made to my skintone and discolouration.
You can purchase this product at any Clicks or Dischem stores for R77. It is also available at select Edgars and Red Square stores and at spree.co.za and takealot.co.za

I’ve seen this product around the shops but I don’t think I’ll be buying it anytime soon. CC creams shouldn’t be creasing, so thank you so much for honest review! Oh, and your skin is freaking amazing!

Hey Bash 🙂
As long as you apply a primer you won’t have to worry about creasing 🙂 I prefer to base a review around using ONLY the product and no extras though. Glad you enjoyed the review!
