Wow, the last time I published a post on here was 5 days before having Violet. Between having her 3.5 weeks early, national Lockdown kicking in, and then having V diagnosed with DDH (Developmental Hip Dysplasia), it has been difficult to sit down and finish a post. I have plenty of drafts written up – my birth story is currently about five millions words long – but finishing a post is proving to be a bit much for my mommy brain.

But today is The Day! I have been meaning to publish this post for ages. I showcase Childs Farm products on my Instagram frequently and I always receive questions about the products. It was high-time I wrote a post that I can refer people to in future.

Childs Farm is an award winning British brand that uses naturally derived ingredients and essential oils to produce mild, kind and delicious smelling toiletries that care for the delicate new skin and hair of newborns, babies and children. Childs Farm is the #1 sensitive toiletry brand in the UK and a massively loved brand in South Africa.

I received the entire baby range to try out on Violet’s skin and, while the entire range is brilliant, two products stood out for me.

Childs Farm Nappy Cream – R79.99

WHAT a brilliant nappy cream. Brilliant to the point that Chris asked me “But do we even need a bum cream, she has never had a rash.” Yes, my love, she has never gotten a rash because the bum cream works like magic!

To date we have gone through three tubes. We are, quite literally, never ever without it. We have one on her compactum, one in the nappy bag, and one in our bedroom for nighttime nappies. It is beyond brilliant. I am a fan of the clip-top tube design too and I can imagine how annoying it could be to use a tub form of nappy cream. This is also a much more hygienic form of product dispenser.

It contains aloe vera, cocoa butter and shea butter to moisturise all skin types and to ensure your little one’s bum is protected. These super-moisturisers also keep skin cells plump which help to form a protective barrier against bacteria.

The cream is fairly thick which allows you to use a small amount to coat a larger area. I love that the consistency is thicker rather than a lotion as it has a longer staying power.

Childs Farm Baby Moisturiser

You NEED to smell this! I am probably going to continue to purchase this Baby Moisturiser even when V is no longer a baby. There is a “kid” variation with the scent of Grapefruit & Tea Tree but this is world-class.

The Baby Moisturiser is perfectly suitable for sensitive skin and those prone to eczema as approved by dermatologists and paediatricians.

While Violet does not seem to have sensitive skin, she does have one patch of eczema on her left eyebrow. Weird, I know! But with application of the Baby Moisturiser the eczema disappears for days at a time. I only realized it had come back when I saw it on her eyebrow a few days later so I started to track the eczema. And yep, one small dollop of lotion (really, half a pea in size) equals 3 eczema free days for Violet and her dodgy eyebrow.

Overall I have been thoroughly impressed with the entire Childs Farm range thus far. I will speak about the other products in future but these were the two that I had the most queries on. Let me know if the comments if there is anything else you want to know!
