Argh. Every single time Juicy Couture launches a new Viva La Juicy fragrance, I claim it as my new favourite. But, Viva La Juicy Soirée, with it’s sparkling mandarin, pink kiwi and freshness, really IS my new favourite.
Of all the Viva La Juicy scents, this bottle, design and scent is my number one. Maybe it is the addition of the wine bottle corkscrew on the glass-cut lid? Maybe it’s the mouth watering freshness of the top notes? Overall it is just stunning, beautifully thought out and an immediate hit for me.
Viva La Juicy Soirée dazzles with bright and lively fruity top notes that settle like a colorful dusting of confetti atop a well-balanced combination of floral mid notes and warm base notes. Both exotic and playful, the Pink Kiwi is a distinctive note that magnifies the magic of the overall composition.
Aimed at the carefree woman, the woman who lights up the room, the woman who embodies a playful and optimistic spirit. I would most definitely pinpoint this to be a daily scent for someone younger, someone in their mid to late 20’s, or alternatively for ANY woman on a night out on the town 😉
I find that Viva La Juicy Soirée lasts longer on my skin than the previous launch. As much as I adore fragrances (and boy, does my collection prove that!), I cannot tell you why or what makes a scent last longer. I know it it something to do with the water versus oil concentration blah-di-blah, but this lasts absolutely HOURS on my skin.
And delving into the nitty gritty of the notes:
Top notes: The scent opens with a kaleidoscope of jeweled fruits including Pink Kiwi, Sparkling Mandarin and Cassis Leaves, which blend to form a juicy pop of freshness.
Heart notes: At the centre, the Indian Sambac and Jasmine Petals de Grasse mingle with Waterlily to create a flush of delicate, feminine florals.
Dried down: The dry down pulses with Musk, sensual Amber, and a hint of Soft Woods, resulting in a glowing warmth that comfortingly envelops the wearer.
As much as I am a fragrance fanatic, I find the notes of Pink Kiwi and Waterlily to be quite unique. Sometimes you spritz a perfume and it subtly reminds you of a similar scent, but once I was able to pinpoint these notes I was not able to liken them to any other scent in my collection.
The cherry on top of it all is the pure exquisiteness of the box and bottle. The box is patterned with deep aubergine, purple and lilac splashes with the text and outline being gold. It gives off an almost – but not quite – holographic effect. The front of the bottle is emblazoned with the classic Juicy Couture logo and matching paint splashes. The cap is finished off with two charms – CAN YOU DIE AT THE CUTENESS? A little corkscrew, a masquerade mask and a deep pink ribbon finish off the whole thing. It just makes you not want to open the box. It is drop dead gorgeous.
The structure is balanced in a way that makes it versatile enough for any occasion, so it’s perfect if you want something that will last all day or if you are looking for something special just to wear in the evening. The top, middle, and back notes are distinct but in harmony with one another. Therefore, the freshness, floralcy, and addictiveness of Viva La Juicy Soirée never over power one another.
