Every year The Body Shop hits the nail on the head with their Christmas launches, and this year is no exception. Actually, they have impressed to the power of ten in my opinion! I recently attended the latest media launch where we were privy to the Christmas editions, as well as the brand new launches!
First up, everyone will be THRILLED to hear that Vanilla Chai is back for Christmas! I am still holding out for Vanilla Creme Brulee from a few years ago, but Vanilla Chai is a close second! The other two Christmas scents are Frosted Plum and the beloved Frosted Berries. I adore the latter, but apparently Frosted Plum is the best seller in South Africa! There are between eight and nine festive formats of all three scents, so all of your faves like the body butters (R175.00), foam bath, hand cream etc etc are covered. Frosted Plum even has a fragrance mist (R220.00) which contains shimmering particles to give your skin a festive sparkle.
Speaking about festive sparkles.. I am so, SO EXCITED for these next few launches! I had no idea about them even though I follow all of the international Body Shop accounts. Starting with what is already in store; The Drops of Glow Lustre Finish Creator (R280.00). OH MY FLIP! You all know how I feel about highlight. This will give you that perfect luminosity whether added to your moisturiser or foundy. I have used it a handful of times now but there will be a full review up soon!
A few limited to Christmas goodies. And these are sure to get you excited. Six shades of creamy metallic matte lipsticks (R90.00) in the same format as their original matte lippies. These are absolute stunners and each shade is Christmassy and festive. They are 100% vegetarian, enriched with Community Trade beeswax and free of gluten, mineral oil and petrolatum.
The Star Liner Stamp (R80.00). Dum dum duuum… I have to be fully honest here. I first though, oh gosh, here we go, a novelty product! But I have been won over from the first use! Let me name the highlights: Cost is ONLY R80, it is dual ended so it need not be a novelty product, it is SUPER pigmented. I don’t want to toot my own horn but toot toot, how cool do the stars look? This is the ultimate product for festival goers over the December holidays! (And at this price, you have more money for your Brutal Fruits).
Another fabulous addition is the Star Glitter Dust (R95). I have not used this because it is a bit more daring. But, like I said above, PERFECT for festivals and the festive season. I can definitely see myself using a bit of this over New Years for a glammed up look. Available in purpley-pink and gold.
Now for a little sadness. The Body Shop has just launched bath bombs AND bath bubbles. For only R30 each! I have mine in the Strawberry flavour and it smells like absolute heaven. Us Cape Town peeps are currently under Level 5 Water Restrictions so I cannot use this but I will be holding onto it until our restrictions are lifted. This might be in 2055 but worth the wait, no? Available in eight delish flavours.
For me, this next goodie is the crème de la crème of the lot. The Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Mask (R310.00). Is the latest Expert Facial Mask to hit the range. It is enriched with a multitude of extra special ingredients to remove pollutants and impurities from the skin. The feeling is very unique on the skin. It is creamy yet has a polishing effect. The mask also gives a tingly, fresh feeling to the skin while you are wearing it. I won’t delve too much into this as I will have a proper post up soon enough. But it is incredible! Eco-warriors can also be happy in knowing this is 100% vegan.
Then last up is the Chinese Ginseng and Rice Clarifying Milky Toner (R150.00). Now, bear with me if you do not like the scent of ginger. You may recall in my Recipes of Nature Mask post that I spoke about how I don’t like the taste or scent of it either. However the scent is not overpowering and the way your skin is left feeling is so worth it. Skin feels refreshed, energized, clarified – all the things you expect from a great skincare product.
And then lastly.. the most important part of this blog post. As a part of the Play 4 Peace campaign, each gift set sold will contribute a donation towards the Peace Play Project. This is a program that teaches children how to deal with and handle past trauma, losses and express themselves without violence. Let me know if you pick up any of these goodies and even better, if you grab a Christmas set! I definitely recommend the Frosted Plum bauble!
