I feel like I have been chatting about skincare so much over on my Instagram stories lately, but not so much on my blog. One product that I have showcased on Instagram a few times is this Dermaheal Foaming Cleanser from Lamelle. I have fallen in love with this scent and I am looking forward to checking out more products from this affordable to mid-end range.
Up until a few months ago, I tended to stay away from foaming cleansers. I had a bad experience in the past with foaming cleansers (well, A foaming cleanser) leaving my skin feeling squeaky and tacky, almost as if I had not rinsed my face properly. I also find that they can be incredibly drying. My skin is dry to dehydrated so this the biggest no-no for me when researching skincare options.
One thing stood out immediately to me with this Dermaheal Foaming Cleanser. Because I take pictures of product before using them, I had squeezed some of this product onto my hand. After washing it off I was near-obsessed with the scent and feel of my hand. All I wanted to do was rub my hand against my face! And the smell! Clean and fresh. Not that soapy scent that I associate with foaming cleansers at all.
So, how did it do on my face? Overall I was really happy with the feel and result when using this. I prefer to remove my make-up with micellar water and cotton pads frst, then go in with this. Afterwards I will go in with a second cleanser or with a face mask. This is just because I feel I need to double cleanse with a more moisturising product afterwards. I like to know that my skin is doubly clean and refreshed! I find that this cleanser works perfectly for the purpose I am using it for. When I apply it after using the cotton pads on my face, it gives it a good cleanse and removes any excess residue.
One stand out point for me would be that it does not sting when it gets too close to your eyes. I can compare this to the Body Shop Drops of Light foaming cleanser as they feel very similar. However, that one slightly stings if you get some near your eye. While this Dermaheal Foaming Cleanser does not.
This gentle, yet effective cleanser contains high concentrations of powerful antioxidants. These antioxidants are responsible for protecting your skin from free radicals. Furthermore, it also protects your skin from future environmental damages. Lastly, these antioxidants have the ability to travel and provide support directly to the epidermis.
This cleanser has been gaining rave reviews online. To be honest, I cannot recall seeing any negative review on it at it and it has been featured a hefty amount of times on beauty blogs of late! Your price point, at R250, is right in the middle of affordable and high-end. To be entirely honest, I was unsure of the price as this was a press drop. And I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the price! To me, this product has all the markings of a mid-range to high-end product and I was expecting a higher price.
Let me know what you thought of this review! Have you used Lamelle before? I have my eye on their Nourish range, keep your eyes peeled for a review on that range hopefully coming soon…
