The M.A.C Mineralize Skin Finish in Lightscapade. Possibly one of the most talked about items in the beauty world of 2014. I remember that there were about four months where this was just THE item if you were following the Kim K contouring and highlighting craze. And yes, of course I was in that group. I never bothered with it because I just found so many other amazing highlighters that I knew I would not be okay with spending R320 on one item. Cue 2015 and I just caved. Yes, there were plenty of fab highlighters on the market, but I was yet to find one that would last more than one or two hours. So I bought the highlighter and the angels sang the first time I wore it.

It is perfect. That’s not a great description but it’s the first thing that pops into my head when thinking of how to describe it. You can look at this little half-globe and see a ton of different colours. I would best describe it as “palest pinky gold with a touch of pale yellow and pale red, veined through with a pastel purple, and then add some light shimmer”. Difficult stuff.

I bought this in the beginning of February (It is now mid-April) and I have probably used it five or six times a week yet you cannot even see that it has been used yet. That itself is amazing, let alone the fact that it lasts on my face for hours and hours. The quality is IMPECCABLE. It gives you a healthy and radiant glow that is shimmery and delicate. When looking for highlighters I always struggle because I feel like they always fall into one of too categories;  “that’s too matte” and “I am now part of the Cullen clan”.

I could not perfectly capture highlighter in this picture but this was the best I could manage. In reality my nose is no where near as big as this and when I showed it to my boyfriend he said  “No babe, you need to learn your angles.”

That’s it. No more America’s Next Top Model for us.

If you are looking to purchase a highlighter then I would absolutely 100% recommend this one. However, it is a LOT of money to spend on one item and, lets face it, the majority of us certainly do not have the money to keep repurchasing items at this price, but I do see myself repurchasing this once finished as it will probably only be in about two years time!

Did you ever get your hands on this coveted item? Did you love it?
