The beauty items I won’t leave the house without using… {FAVOURITES}

Keeping in theme with my last post – a mask favourites post – welcome to the latest edition of my favourite every-day make-up items. Or more specifically, my favourite every-day AFFORDABLE make-up items that you could pick up from any Clicks store.

My first act of the day (after skincare) is primer. I adore the Prep & Poreless from Sorbet for an all over prime. Not just the “targeted primer” that we sometimes see advertised. Nope, I apply this lightly tinted primer to my forehead, chin, cheeks etc. All over. And it 110% guarantees that my make-up will be in place by the end of the day and that my pores are significantly blurred. Truth be told, I was never really sold on blurring primers until I started using the Prep & Poreless. R150 & Sorbet make-up is currently on a 3-for-2 special in Clicks stores to celebrate their 1st Birthday!

Next up is a fairly new addition to my make-up routine. The Lasting Finish Foundation from Rimmel has quickly shot up to the top of my favourites list and I see it staying there. The payoff is BEAUTIFUL. A matte yet healthy looking finish which glides onto the skin seamlessly thanks to the addition of “comfort serum” in the formula.

The packaging is a bit deceiving and one might think this is an open top lid. But it is actually a pump. SO much better as it is hygienic and assures product is dispensed in a controlled fashion. AKA no wastage! The foundation lasts well over an entire day and I am completely obsessed with this latest addition to my collection. R179.95 and all Rimmel make-up is currently on a 3-for-2 special in Clicks stores.

Another newer addition to my beauty routine is adding a few drops of the Away We Glow Liquid Booster Drops (R265)in Snatched from NYX Professional Makeup to my foundation before applying to my face. I like to mix two drops in (if it is an average workday) for a boost of luminosity. There are multiple shades in this range, each one more beautiful than the last.

Tying in with the above, I opt for a Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge (R135) to apply my foundation. I swapped back to buffing brushes for a few months but now I am back to sponges and I can visibly see that my foundation application is that little bit smoother. NYX make-up is currently on a 3-for-2 special in Clicks stores.

Make-Up Revolution have really brought the A-Game over the last 6 months in terms of eyeshadow palettes. Our affordable eyeshadow options have never been so vast! You will all know I am a HUGE fan of the Pro HD Innovation palette (I own TWO of this!) as well as their Flawless 4 32 pan palette. This palette really has everything. It is a collection palette consisting of wearable and more daring shades in all payoffs; mattes, shimmers and satins. As well as it being a versatile palette, it is incredible affordable. The Make-Up Revolution eyeshadow palettes range from R129.95 to R255. Make-Up Revolution is currently on a 3-for-2 special in Clicks stores.

And shall we take a moment for this palette packaging? It is BEYOND EXQUISITE on the inside and out.

Then out of every single item you see in this post, THESE are my two ride-or-die items. Both are from Sorbet; the Take a Brow and the What a Cheek (R170). Take a Brow is a pocket brow bar containing two shades and a wax. The perfect shades for creating a seamlessly merged tail and contour of your brow.

Then the What a Cheek in Fresh Berry is a blush cheek stamp which I was not besties with to start off with. It started to grow on me and now I cannot walk out the front door without it on my face. The shade is STUNNING. Healthy, glowy, fresh and the colour lasts all day long. Both of these are must have items in my opinion. Sorbet make-up is currently on a 3-for-2 special in Clicks stores. So you could grab all three of the Sorbet items I have chatted about for only R320 😉

I could go on and on about so many other favourites of mine if I was to chat to mascaras and lip products. However I am keeping this post to feature only my absolute MUST HAVE ITEMS. And there you have them! But there’s more…

Moving on to two non make-up – but still very much beloved every-day – items.

The Waterless Hair Refresher is my latest go-to for busy days. Any oil buildup is immediately diminished and you need not fear your hair becoming oily again before the day is through. I know it sounds gross. But sometimes we just don’t have the time to go through an entire hair wash and condition regime. Or at least I certainly struggle some evenings!

The Melon + Herbs Hair Refresher is an absolutely divine, clean scent which cleans the hair as well as adds a bit of volume. This is an aspect I always look for in hair refreshers as hair which is in need of a wash is usually also a bit flat and tired. You need something with a bit of va-va voom! Currently retailing for R69.95 on a ‘price off’ promo.

And lastly, but certainly not least, due to the fact that I am somewhat obsessed with this brand new brand; the Smile Science range.

As well as being available exclusively to Clicks, Smile Science Harley Street is brand new to the South African market. As the world renowned cosmetic and medical refuge for royals, aristocrats and celebrities alike, you are promised your teeth shade to be lightened by up to eight shades.

My personal favourites in the range are the Teeth Whitening Wands (R499) and the Activated Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder (R269). These two products are vastly different but my teeth shade has improved in under a week of use. By far THE BEST teeth whitening items I have used to date.

My friend has recommended this dentist in Glen Rock for laser whitening, which I have never tried, but I am seriously tempted to! Until then, the powder form has quickly become my favourite for a few reasons. The tub is a 60g quantity which is extremely generous and will last three months. The charcoal aids in oral health as well as whitening. You drop toothpaste from your oral hygiene routine when using the powder. Therefore adding no time to your morning and evening routine. You brush with the charcoal exactly as you would with toothpaste. And no, it doesn’t taste funny! If anything, you feel like your teeth have had a deeper clean thanks to the granular formula. Just because it’s making your teeth feel like they’ve had a deep clean doesn’t mean you’re able to skip dental appointments, make sure to still attend dental practices such as Dentist West Long Branch for oral check-ups. It is absolutely a new must-have for me! Smile Science Harley Street is another brand currently running a 3-for-2 special during the Clicks Beauty Fair.
