Cipria Milano. Have you heard the name? I hadn’t either up until a few weeks ago when suddenly half the Cape Tonian beauty people were over taking social media with images of products from the launch (which was held at the most fantastically fabulous Nobu).

Basically Cipria Milano is an Italian brand dedicated to bringing affordable, professional and great quality products to its clients. And when I say affordable, I mean affordable.

I got my hands on a few of the products from this brand to test out and I will be doing a few separate posts on the products over the next few days. Today I will be focusing on the Long Lash Mascara.

Despite the name, this mascara doesn’t give off that WOW effect. It is just your usual mascara formula with the usual mascara wand. The wand bristles are short and stumpy which works well for adding volume to your lashes but it does not give much length. These may sound like relatively not-so-positive remarks but in reality I really do love finding mascaras which are perfect for every day usage and this mascara is just that. At only R119.95 you can afford to use it every day.

The “you can afford to use it every day” comment may sound odd coming from a beauty blogger because of course I wear mascara on the daily BUT I prefer to use my more affordable mascaras to work and then gravitate towards my pricier mascaras on the weekends and special occasions. So with this mascara, you get that perfectly volumised lashes look without being overly made up and over the top.

One of my favourite things about this mascara is actually that it is very easy to remove. You can literally slide your fingers over your lashes in the shower and the formula will glide right off with only water. You know, if you ever happen to run out of make-up remover..

I found that the mascara lasted well throughout the entire day and left NO smudging and did not transfer in the slightest – this is a SERIOUS plus from such an affordable brand! Usually you would just expect to look like a panda bear at the end of the day.

So over all I was pretty pleased with this mascara and the longevity of the product.

Over the next week or so I will be posting a few more reviews on Cipria Milano products, so keep your eyes peeled if you want to know more about this brand. I am especially a fan of their All In One No Rinse Intensive Hair Mask which I will definitely be reviewing!

The Cipria Milano brand is currently available from Sandton City in Johannesburg and Cape Gate mall in Brackenfell in Cape Town. They will be launching an online store (BIG YES!) within the next few months and they are planning on opening a third store in the Mall of Africa soon enough.
