Okay. Here I go. This post has been coming for a few weeks but I was on a bit of a bloggy downer and I did not want to sit down and write this post until I was in the best state of mind. Reason? This product has surpassed its way to sit as my number one favourite product of 2016 (yes, its only March, but shush). So I have finally gotten around to my review on the Cleansing Facial Powder.
You probably saw the hype of the two new Skin Creamery products doing the rounds on social media because it was a HUGE hype. Now generally a hype will die down after a few days; once the launch has passed and ya’ll have ordered your products blah blah blah. But still today I am seeing people raving and raving on about Skin Creamery’s two new releases. For the record, the second product is the Facial Hydrating Oil and my review on that will be up later on this week.
I have been doing weekly check-ins on Snapchat regarding both the new releases and I was trying to pick a favourite but, the more I used them, the more I changed my mind. I finally decided that, if someone had a gun to my make-up stash, I would choose the Cleansing Facial Powder.
You could very easily search the brand and look at its list of ingredients, benefits, yada yada yada, that no one really cares about because generally you don’t really see the results from the products but this is a seriously good product that absolutely lives up to what it says it will do for you.
You can use this irregularly as a face mask OR you can use it as a daily cleanser. When the product was explained to us I immediately thought “Ooooh, I will definitely use this as a mask!” but, after using it as a cleanser a few times, I felt that my skin literally craved the feeling that this gave it after being used. ** To use as a face mask you need only add a teensy bit of raw honey.
It is a light exfoliation and I generally like a pretty rough exfoliator because then you can physically feel the product working on your skin but this gives you the same after feeling without actually putting your skin through so much stress. Our faces are not designed to be heavily exfoliated once a day, no matter how much I want to. The light exfoliation comes from the teensy macadamia nut shell granules which is described as “super power” on their website!
The main ingredients – which can be read clearly on the front of the packaging -are:
- Baobab fruit powder to aid in the production of elastin and collagen in our skin
- Buchu, which is loaded with healing properties and anti-bacterial helpfulness
- Calcium Bentonite which is the basic clay component that absorbs the excess oil on our skin.
Now finally, my last two points. Firstly, with these images you can see just how drop dead flipping gorgeous the packaging is. Nothing crawls into your beauty loving heart more than a simple, sleek, clean design. They seriously got it right! Something else to note is the terrific way that they have managed to create a box that can be shipped to customers without using one cm of bubble wrap! I will post those pictures in my next Skin Creamery post so you had better stay tuned 😉
And secondly, the smells. OH, the SMELLS. I can’t rave more than what I have on Snapchat but dayum does your face smell amazing for the rest of the day…
Hopefully you are loving the sound of this ground breaking product as much as I love using it! You can buy it directly here for R240. My next post I will list all the local joints you can purchase it from.
Thanks for popping in! Let me know in the comments if you’ve used this product and if you are as obsessed as I am?
